Meliha is a historic and archaeology area in Sharjah that was once home to ‘anatomically modern humans’ from the Palaeolithic period between 130,000 and 120,000 years ago. Evidence points to the spread of humanity from Africa across the Red Sea to the Persian Gulf. Today the area is being developed for eco-tourism but you can still find wild goats roaming the terrain.
