Geumosan πŸ” Gumi’s Hidden Gem πŸ’Ž

Between Seoul and Daegu is the industrial city of Gumi, South Korea. Often overlooked by foreign travelers, the export city holds one of Korea’s most hidden and off the beaten track gems: Geumosan Mountain.

The peak, 976 meters above sea level, will take around 3-4 hours to reach if you start at the bottom. For those interested in a less vigorous hike, you can take a cable car to HaeUn Buddhist Temple (roughly halfway up the terrain).

On top of Geumo Mountain (Geumo San) is YakSa Temple (pictured below). It is an active Buddhist Temple near the peak of the mountain. A suspension bridge leads to a bell on top of a spike rock overlooking the city below.

  1. It is unusual to see mentioning and appreciating this place from foreigners! This mountain is one of toughest mountains to climb as it is stiff and rocky. Good job! Thanks for the amazing photos. Love to see beauty of my country. ?
